[Bug 555656] [NEW] Almost black screen on login

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome

It's almost black, but not completely - the login screen is barely
visible when looked at very carefully. Goes back to normal when I switch
to a text console and back.

Interestingly, it seems to be gnome-specific on Ubuntu (and debian
testing) - with KDE it's worse - can't login at all, just loops into
infinite X restarts. And with PCLinuxOS beta2, it's not - there I have
the same "almost-black" screen with KDE.

It's a PM800 chip, on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v2010 laptop, and with
Ubuntu Lucid Beta. Sorry for not attaching more data and stuff, but I
don't have that live cd at hand any more.

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
