[Bug 555721] [NEW] [KMS] No DRICreatePCIBusID symbol, no kernel modesetting. (No libdri.so no libglx.so)

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

I updated to Lucid from Karmic on April 4, 2010. The update went well,
except for fglrx which failed to update and was reported as a broken
package. So I decided to remove fglrx and go with the Free driver and
have Kernel Mode Setting. However it doesn't seem like I have KMS and I
can't figure out why.

The Xorg.0.log reports that it fails to load the "dri" and "glx"
modules. When it tries to load them. The other modules like "dri2" are
successfully loaded from /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/

the package xserver-xorg-core seems to have the files

anders@salt2:~$ dpkg-query --search libglx.so
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx from: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx to: /usr/lib/fglrx/libglx.so.xlibmesa
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx from: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so
diversion by xorg-driver-fglrx to: /usr/lib/fglrx/libglx.so.xlibmesa
xserver-xorg-core: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so

but reinstalling it doesnt seem to help
