Yes I have two monitors attached to it. The monitors were showing up as
clones, not individual displays.
And it was freezing after all the dots were moving (they were all
darkened).
I enabled the recommended non-free NVidia driver and let Synaptic update
everything, which fixed the crashing issue. Now the boot-up screen is in
a low resolution, but I'll see if I can fix that.
I let the crash reporter tool tell me where to report the bug, since I
haven't had a lot of time to do investigating myself. Unfortunately I
still have a bit to learn in the ubuntu QA process, but I'm very happy
to learn and do my part to help.
If you want I can switch back to the nouveau (sp?) driver to do more
tests, but by now I've updated everything and the system rebooted fine,
so I hope that means the problem won't show up in release.
