[Bug 550405] Re: Flatscreen TV goes out of range after grub with integrated intel gfx and a Sony Bravia 32' Flatscreen TV connected via VGA cable.
It looks like the Intel graphics driver is failing to load properly due
to an AGP issue, which would be why adding i915.modeset=0 has no effect.
This is bug #542251.
I suspect that vga16fb might be messing the mode up. Does booting with
“blacklist=vga16fb” work any better?
