I can confirm that this happens with Kubuntu 10.04 beta 2 as well. I
have wiped the 4.7 daily and installed beta 2. NO DICE with the
installation of nvidia-current even when using the xorg-edgers
repository. I have tried installing with apt-get install nvidia-current,
as well as through jockey. The build process fails when it hits the
update-initramfs step.

After the install fails, I try "sudo apt-get -f install", which yields:
