Thanks a lot, for your comments. They are helpful, well-informed and
considerate. While I am not afraid to patch and compile my own kernel, I
will probably not have the time to do actual testing currently. Thanks
anyway for the pointer! I will try testing it, when I find the time and
will report back with the results.

All in all I understand that you prefer stability over features. I will
try to revert back to an old driver for the time being.
