Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Since updating my xorg-video-intel package, compiz no longer works. It
has been working flawlessly since feisty on this machine, also earlier
in lucid, even KMS started working without a hitch. But now, I find the
following line in my X.org.log

(WW) intel(0): i845 or i855 chip detected.  Disabling DRI to prevent system instability.

Since DRI seems to be disabled, compiz refuses to run. Whatever
instability this is supposed to prevent, I have never been affected by
it and I would like to be able to override this decision.

Is there a way to get my desktop effects back?
