[Bug 566264] [NEW] 10.04 Beta 2 regression: proprietary Nvidia driver fails to recover from suspend to ram

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

I have Kubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 installed on a Sony Vaio VPCF1 laptop with a
Nvidia GeForce 310M GPU. Suspend to ram worked properly after initial
installation. However, resuming from suspend stopped working correctly
sometime after applying some daily updates. The laptop screen backlight
turns on but the screen stays black when resuming from a suspended
state. xrandr -r 51 followed by xrandr -r 50 is a dirty hack that will
recover the screen after the resume has failed.

I have recently installed a new Kubuntu 10.04 Beta 2 installation with
no updates on a separate partition. Resuming from a suspend to ram
state with the Nvidia proprietary driver works properly once again on
the new partition.
