Message #64913
[Bug 568878] [NEW] [i855GM] Completely hangs (regression between 2.9.1-3ubuntu2 and 2.9.1-3ubuntu4)
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Some days ago, my computer (Laptop Dell Latitude D500) stops booting in graphics mode. It hangs and no response to anything except hardware reset (nor to ctrl+alt+del, ctrl+alt+F1, ctrl+alt+bksp or short powerbutton).
After some test, i think that its a regression bug in 2.9.1-3ubuntu4 version of the package.
I manually installed 2.9.1-3ubuntu2 and after reboot, x server initiates ok.
Then, i upgraded again to 3ubuntu4 and the error comes in.
Sorry, but i'd not tested version 3ubuntu3, only 2 and 4.
The system is a Ubuntu 10.04 upgraded from 9.10 and fully updated with latest packages.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
