Message #65283
[Bug 569558] [NEW] Blank screen when switching desktop users
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xorg
I have two desktop users. After upgrading to the Lucid Release
Candidate, switching between these users sometimes results in the 2nd
user's desktop to always show a blank screen. When this occurs, I can
switch back to the original user using CTRL + ALT + F8/9, but the 2nd
user's screen is always blank. If I log out of the 1st user, the 2nd
user is still shown as logged in but if I try to resume their session, I
just get the blank screen. The only way I can recover from this is to
kill the X server of the 2nd user, which them causes their account to be
shown as logged out, and I can log back in with a fresh desktop. The
problem is easily repeatable just by switching back and forth between
users enough times. Please let me know if you need any additional
information and I will be happy to work through any procedure.
