[Bug 572475] [NEW] 1280x800 Resolution Does Not Render Properly Under Default Nouveau Drivers

Public bug reported:

1) Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x64 (Final)

2) This is either the general (meta?) nvidia-graphics-drivers package or
xorg (1:7.5+5ubuntu1) or xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
(1:0.0.15+git20100219+9b4118d-0ubuntu5) but I am not sure which is the
right one.

3) Booted into the live environment using a LiveUSB with the Ubuntu
10.04 LTS amd64 final image. Expected to see a normal desktop at the
correct resolution and rendered properly.

4) (See attachment) Display is overlapping at the default (and proper
for the screen) resolution of 1280x800. I am able to navigate with
practice and change the resolution down to 1024x768 (which displays
properly).

I have attempted to install the nvidia-current drivers in the Live
environment but they have repeatedly failed. I'm going to install Ubuntu
as is and hope that once installed I will be able to use the proprietary
drivers without issue.

** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
