Binary package hint: xorg

On top of server edition I installed package gnome-core. After issuing "service gdm start" login screen does not start, just blank screen.
If I create file /etc/X11/xorg.conf with text:

I get the login screen, but max resolution is 640x480 and Monitor: Unknown.
