the nvidia-current driver is installed with synaptic, no driver from
nvidia site, only genuine lucid packages or x-swat ones.

i never use extra drivers, only nvidia-current, nvidia-current-modaliases, nvidia-common and nvidia-settings.
its the first time that i see such warnings logged about fbdev or vesa, your comments make sense and i install them again to be able to boot on fallback.
