Hi, no I didn't try reverting the kernel yet, since everything works
fine with the workaround except the external VGA output. Where did you
find signs of this common problem? A few links could be useful - and I
mean the external VGA, not the black screen issue.

Anyways, I hope for this issue to be fixed soon - such regressions
normally should never happen in Ubuntu.
