[Bug 590674] [NEW] Using KMS with intel, x server restarts when I load/play videos
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Hello,
I know that i8xx Intel on Lucid is a mess, but I wanted to make sure
that this was in the system.
In order to get the Live CD to boot, I had to use Workaround A from here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Bugs/Lucidi8xxFreezes
Now, when I try to watch a video in Totem, load a video into PiTiVi or
into dvdrip, xorg crashes and keeps restarting.
Hopefully my logs are helpful. The xorg log gives:
Fatal server error:
Failed to submit batchbuffer: Input/output error
I tried to find this bug somewhere in the system already, but there are
so many xorg-intel bugs that I couldn't tell the dupes. I sent the gdm
log, so please make sure that my login password isn't in there before
making it public.
Please let me know what I can do to help.
