[Bug 599452] [NEW] X crash after restore from hibernate with Intel graphics

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Lucid crashes after resume from hibernate. The crash is not immediate,
but usually occurs within five minutes after resume, usually when
starting a program, but I can't identify the specific behavior that
directly triggers the crash (besides hibernation itself). The crash is
100% reproducible. The system is completely stable if I never hibernate.
Resume from suspend to RAM also works perfectly, and the system remains
stable: it is only suspend to disk that triggers the crash.

I'm using an HP Mini 210, which has Intel N10 graphics, using the i915
driver.

There are other, similar bugs involving Intel graphics on Lucid, such as
bug 528467 and bug 554569, but these bugs don't specifically deal with a
crash after hibernate, so I am filing a new bug report. This may be
related to the known X crashes related to KMS documented here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Bugs/Lucidi8xxFreezes As suggested at that
address, I enabled and disabled KMS. The crash happens at the same time
in either case, but the symptoms are slightly different: with KMS
enabled, the crash results in the "X is running in low graphics mode"
dialog box; I can easily access virtual terminals, and although X will
not start, the computer remains functional. With KMS disabled, the crash
results in a loop where the screen is turned on and off, virtual
terminals are not accessible, and nothing is displayed.

Using xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.9.1-3ubuntu5

Please let me know if there's any additional information I can provide.
