[Bug 599949] [NEW] Incorrect Screen Resolution

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" X64 edition with a Radeon HD
4670 1GB AGP card and a pair of 21 in IBM P275 CRT screens. Currently
Ubuntu limits me to 1600x1200 @ 60hz. If I were to use a different OS I
could bring it up the max of 2048x1536 @ 75hz with no problem. I am
curious as to whether there will be an update to correct this problem or
not. A bit off topic, but in addition if there is a way to make more
WinBlowz games and programs work under Linux I could see more people
leaving the Blue Screen Of Death for Tux by the millions. Also, if
Ubuntu can support more platforms like its parent Debian does I would
implement onto the cluster I am building. I will take a picture of it
and send it to you showing you what Ubuntu is powering if you would
like. Please keep up the good work and I look to stay a Linux user for
a LONG time. I have been using Ubuntu strictly since 7.10 if that means
anything and generally very well impressed. Thank you again for all of
your hard work.
