[Bug 586325] Re: [i965q] Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo E: changing resolution results in non working X
Hypothesis is, that using xrandr on the command line is more robust than
using gnome-display-properties:
Series of 10 tests,
this sequence repeated 5 times per test:
xrandr -s 1024x768 --rate 60
xrandr -s 1920x1200
Results:
working: x x x xxxx
broken : X X X
broke during 3rd attempt when going to 1024x768, flickering screen
broke during 2nd attempt when going to 1024x768, flickering screen
broke during 5th attempt when going to 1920x1200, display slept
Observation: after resolution change to 1920x1200 pixel errors where observed
on the lower right screen, looking like a gradient developing from lower right
to center of screen. This happened some, but not all times.
Series of 5 tests,
using gnome-display-properties
Results:
working:
broken: XXXXX
broke during 1st attempt when going to 1024x768, flickering screen
same as 1st test
same as 1st test
same as 1st test
same as 1st test
