Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

When changing the resolution on a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo and a Fulitsu
Siemens 24" display, the X server is hung with colored graphic blocks.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open gnome-display-properties
2) Select 1680x1050 or 1024x768 (instead of 1900x1200)
3) Screen may either turn black or start to flicker or both happens after each other

>From the system itself only a hard power off is possible. It may be
accessible via ssh but it cannot be tested because of a restricted
testing environment.
