The kernel 2.6.32-23-generic was recently (a few days ago) pushed on
Lucid on since then I haven't had any crashes, despite my attempts to
reproduce it. The problem seems to be solved with that kernel release,
although it would be nice if someone else could verify it.

I'd be happy to try out Maverick and see if it suffers from a similar
problem. Unfortunately, it won't be so easy, since you can't hibernate
from a LiveCD boot. Is it worthwhile to see if Maverick runs in
low-graphics mode even without hibernating? Also, why does PGTBL_ER:
0x03 worry you? Should I do more testing in relation to that?
