Public bug reported:

I use a Sony Bravia KDL-40W4000 through HDMI, a 40" TV that is reported
as a 70". The same goes for my pioneer receiver which forwards a 70"
screen.

$ lsb_release -rd

The problem occurs with both the latest original kernel 2.6.32 and the latest testing Ubuntu kernel 2.6.35-rc4. Also with the original xserver-xorg.
