Public bug reported:

Had tried to install drivers for  Radeon R5670 - system would fail to load desktop after reporting `no dri module' - would load failsafe graphics. Finally reset xorg.conf to mirror `failsafe.conf[?] - working but no DRi available - janitor nor synaptic will uninstall ati driver package, and software updates failing with `incomplete install' error.
Re-installs of Karmic will fail with blank screen [presario SR5060AN]
