Possibly related problem:

On my Acer Aspire One, I am unable to extend the desktop onto a second
monitor.  The combined desktop is only as big as the first monitor, and
the rest renders black.  The mouse cursor draws on the black if I move
it to the edge of the black, but I can't move it into the black.

This is with the current beta build of 10.04
