[Bug 630105] Re: Incompatibility with the new X.org 8.0 ABI
An addition,
the link Opengeek provided in the description is outdated and way too complicated.
It must also be noted that it is for Lucid (10.04) and not for Maverick (10.10).
Experienced users may use terminal and "sudo apt-get" to install
applications and drivers, but for beginners it is safer to use synaptic
in order to resolve dependencies automatically.
It gets even more complicated to download applications and to install them as local packages with "sudo dpkg -i".
This will easily lead to broken packages if dependencies are not met.
