[Bug 637808] [NEW] only using properitary ati driver can plasma (panasonic plasma) via hdmi be used

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

When using the default ati driver in kubuntu 10.04, my screen on the tv
(panasonic vierra) via hdmi is oversized. Krandr is detecting the screen
resolutions as 1920x1080, 1280x720, and a 720x ... UI thinks it a PAL
setting. Anyway any of those settings are too big, like enable larger
desktop area or whatever its called is enabled. None of them are really
useable. I believe this is true in kde4.4 and sure in 4.5 (cant remember
if I tried it for sure in 4.4) so I installed ubuntu desktop to see if
it the case in gnome too. It seems to be a problem there as well. I
checked for a firmware update for the tv as well.

Scenario, vga = main monitor hdmi = out to plasma ati radeon
4200 HD onboard

The proprietary driver detects it well.
