[Bug 640725] [NEW] Xorg 100% cpu usage after starting xfce terminal and select other apps

Public bug reported:

Running on armel, Maverick

Opening certain Xfce apps which seem to be all terminal-related (package
manager with output of installation progress, xfce terminal) makes Xorg
CPU usage spike to 100% on idle.

I've tried turning off cursor blinking, changing font settings to no
antialiasing, non-lcd antialiasing, compositing on or off, the same
effect.

Investigation shows this may be the fix for the problem causing it:

Patch has not hit mainline yet, and so far we cannot be 100% sure the
bug has gone, since this is fbdev, 100% cpu usage is quite common
(although, when it is not happening window manager and desktop usage are
really quite impressively fast)

Anything I should be posting to show/aid diagnostic of this error?

** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
