Public bug reported:

Fglrx driver, that had worked ever since 10.04 was published,
failed to load after latest updates and failed to reinstall.

It's errormsg during loading said something like "failed to init DRM"...

The ability to drop back to sw-accelerated desktop worked flawlessly.
