[Bug 645042] [NEW] Radeon HD5450 output via HDMI is slightly corrupted

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati

This issue can be observed when using Radeon HD 5450 connected via HDMI
to Iiyama ProLite E2710HDS monitor.

The monitor and the card both support three kinds of connectors D-SUB (VGA), DVI and HDMI.
Picture over HDMI is corrupted when using the open source driver.

The corruption is visible on the left edge of the screen. It seems like
the entire display is shifted two pixels right. The two leftmost pixels
on the screen (two columns) are violet. The rest of the screen (1920 -
those 2 pixels) contains the entire image, but is slightly compressed to
compensate for the loss of those two pixels.

This causes readability issues for any displayed text and in general is
annoying. The issue does not exist when using 10.04 (Lucid) and the
proprietary driver. The issue does not exist when using the same monitor
and card with DVI and D-SUB connector.

I have prepared a photo of the issue. The screen background was set to
black to make it more visible.
