Public bug reported:

I am running off a live cd version of Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS installed on a
usb drive.  I activated the driver from System>Administration>Hardware
Drivers, and at the end of the download and install process, it said it
didn't work, and connected me to this web page to report the failure.
