Message #91934
[Bug 649350] [NEW] Sandy Bridge DRI is non functional and should be disabled for 10.10.
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
In mesa 7.9 that is currently in maverick Sandy Bridge DRI is non
functional and leading to hangs any time a GL app is started. Given
that these machines may potentially be released before 11.04 is, we
should disable DRI in 10.10 so a 2D desktop experience is functional and
revert the change for natty where it will be supported. This can be
accomplished with a patch to xserver-xorg-video-intel so i965_dri.so
does not load for the Sandy Bridge pci id's.
** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
Importance: Medium
Assignee: Robert Hooker (sarvatt)
Status: Fix Released
