Message #96104
[Bug 664576] [NEW] 10.04 -> 10.10 upgrade fails: extracting 'maverick.tar.gz' ERROR:root:failed to open tarfile (file could not be opened successfully) Failed to extract Extracting the upgrade failed. There may be a problem with the network or with the server.
Public bug reported:
I get the following message trying to upgrade 10.04 32bit to 10.10
extracting 'maverick.tar.gz
ERROR:root:failed to open tarfile (file could not be opened successfully)
Failed to extract
Extracting the upgrade failed. There may be a problem with the network or with the server.
I have tried changing the servers from which Ubuntu downloads updates
but am still receiving the same error message.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike
