HI Jan,
1 The UPD is only windows based at the moment. OSX uses their own
version of a "UPD" depending on what version you running. I suggest
always download latest driver from HP website for OSX. Linux also have
their own printing system.
http://www.hp.com/sbso/printing/mac/index.html?jumpid=ex_R295_go/mac/printing
HP Mac site.
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html you can download Linux
HPLIP files from this site.
2 Install relevant drivers from sites above.
3. We have a driver pre configuration tool or you can pre configure the
driver in WJA. You can lock many of these features. If you using the
Safecom driver you can also configure that driver with the defaults.
See attached document on how to manage the UPD also links in document
where to download the UPD Pre Config tools from.
4. Please check with Ralf if these options exist in Safecom. I don't
think so.

Hi Casper
1. Is there an HP Universal Printer Driver for OSX and Linux?
2. If not, should we select the printer with the highest specification
(the CM6040 MFP in my case) and use that driver? My reasoning is that
when the users release on a lower specification printer (e.g. without
colour,A3,duplex) the driver/printer will still print the job.
3. We need to know how to specify default settings on the Universal
Print Driver for duplex default, grayscale default, etc. On OSX and
Linux if a UPD is available.
4. Is it possible to configure the SafeCom printers (CM6040f MFP and
P4515x) not to print a job if the paper tray has too little paper or if
the toner is below a threshold?
Thanks
Jan
