Question #76170 on Ubuntu changed:

Thanks actionparsnip.
We plugged in the Brother MFC7340, downloaded the deb files from the
Brother website and followed their instructions. When it came to
giving the command:
dpkg -i --force-all --force-architecture
cupswrapperMFC7340-2.0.2-1.i386.deb
There initially appeared to be some conflict with drivers (or
files/folders associated with them) for another Brother printer that had
previously been installed on the machine. The error message made some
reference to an issue with the "--force-all" option. In the end we
went with:
dpkg -i cupswrapperMFC7340-2.0.2-1.i386.deb
And it did the trick. Everything else went smoothly. Printer/Scanner
working fine. Good outcome.
