What you meant to ask was how much disc space to allocate to Ubuntu.
The answer: As much as you can spare depending on the size of your hard
drive.
If you have an 80 GB hard drive, you can divide it and dedicate half to
Ubuntu.
Ideally, you would use 2 hard drives with Ubuntu on one and "the other
operating system" on the other drive.
