actionparsnip proposed the following answer:
gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
By adding a line like:
Option "Resolution" "500"
in section:
Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Mouse0"
This may help too:

You will need to add different accellerations for each mouse device in
xorg.conf
