Tom proposed the following answer:
It's probably not booting from cd because the bios settings arent set up
.  Simply turn on your machine and press Esc, Del or F8 or whatever the
screen says will get you into the bios and then change the boot-order so
that Cd/dvd-drive is top of the list :)
