further information:
when we bought this acer computer(from elcot a government enterprise working in IT services for government of tamil nadu state in india-and elcot offering this computer among people like students teachers and others to promote open source software like suse linux and does not encourage the proprietary software) we purchased from elcot( i think preinstalled suse linux by them ) and switched on first time ,the menu shows as foollowing:
suse linux 10.1---------------?????------------(i don't what exactly)
suse linux ( recovery mode )
ubuntu 8.04,kernel 2.6.24-16 generic
ubuntu 8.04,kernel 2.6.24.-16generic(recovery mode)

on both suse linux and ubuntu ,wine is installed.
now on ubuntu ,wine is located in applications ----> wine
wine shows as
wine-->program-->accessories ---->notepad(with wine icon)
       ---->browse C:\ wine(with wine icon)
      ----->configure wine(with wine icon)
      ----->uninstall wine program(with wine icon)
 and in C:\drive, there are folders (Esl,program files, reader,resource set up files,windows,install.log and read me.htm( i open this read me.htm it shows about adobe reader)
and i have not used wine on ubuntu till now.(earlier in suse linux also )and elcot said IE for linux (ver 6.0) IE 6working in root user only(suse linux)
