vijay is still having a problem:
in synaptic manager,settings-->preferences in which
agian in temporary files there are three options 
1.leave all downloaded packages in the cache.
2.delete downloaded packages after installation.
3.only delete packages which are no longer available.
which one i choose and then click delete catched package files

another thing is
 i also using firefox web browser a good one .in the seamonkey web browser (just added by using  add or remove program  to my computer) in the home page of sea monkey web browser,it shows sea monkey browser 1.1.17 latest one for the linux . i down load it without seeing i the download settings. i don't know where it goes(i described more in earlier)

another thing u want me is that
places=>1.0GB media (it asks authentication) in which folders like boot ,grub and others
in grub folder==>menu.lst  is seen .when opening it shows AS
could n't display  /media/disk/boot/grub/menu.lst
There is no application installed for this file type.
OK.

another thing u want me to do is that 
opening the terminal (for what i am going to do that) i am trying this now.please wait.
