I could be that ubuntu does not see/detect the raid properly,  Many
motherboard RAID configurations are what is called "FAKERAID" and can be
very troublesome.  You'd do well to go to this documentation and review
it and see what you can do to get it to work: (note the warning at the
very top of this document)

Or you can simply use one of the other disks to get ubuntu installed and
then try to fix the raid so it's viewable.  I'd go the latter route.
