Re: [Question #77224]: Cannot open "Office * ". The application cannot be started. The user interface language cannot be determined. This is what I get.

Normally programs should fall back to English if the desired language is
missing...

In synaptics... search for the name "language" and check all the things
for your language to installation. Also check "openoffice.org" to
install. Then let the install run and, maybe after a reboot, retry to
start OO.org.

You can also try to start OOo from the terminal, which can give hints
what is wrong. Type:

    ooffice

And hit enter.
