Tom proposed the following answer:
On the top taskbar, just to the right of the menu "System" should be a
'Firefox' icon it's gold and blue and should open a web-browser called
Firefox.  This should already allow you to surf the internet but
sometimes it doesn't pick-up on your internet connection.  Please let us
know how you're trying to connect to the internet and we might be able
to help
