Re: [Question #77522]: cabextract configure hangs on mktime check
Question #77522 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77522
Status: Answered => Solved
austin_is confirmed that the question is solved:
The whole point of using an alpha/beta is to find and report bugs. This
_is_ a bug. The configure check works fine on hardy, but fails on jaunty
(not an alpha/beta) and karmic. It is a regression, and a valid bug.
I'm well aware of how to solve simple issues (from simple config to
recompiling apps). The compile still works, as it is not critical for
cabextract. If other software depends on it, I don't know, but they very
well may.
No, I can not use apt-build in this case, as I'm building a .deb
installer for a separate project that bundles cabextract.
>From http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/karmic/alpha2:
It should come as no surprise that this alpha release of Karmic Koala contains other bugs. Your comments, bug reports, patches and suggestions will help fix bugs and improve future releases. Please report bugs using the tools provided.
If you don't want bugs reported, I'll gladly take the hint and move on.
Even though it also affects the current stable release (jaunty).
