Re: [Question #77663]: update manager fails
Question #77663 on update-manager in ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+question/77663
marcobra (Marco Braida) requested for more information:
Yes might be a proxy defined into your environment or /etc/apt/ subdir
configurations...
But i also think you must deeply dress your /etc/apt/sources.list
because i get for almost a code 404 if i try with my browser.
The rows below and others are no good...
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/Release.gpg
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/main/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/deb-src/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/<ubuntu/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/jauntu/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/9.4/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
http://ppa.launchpad.net/transmissionbt/ubuntu/dists/<ubuntu_release_name>/maain>/i18n/Translation-en_US.bz2
So, please:
1) Using System → Administration → Software sources [Ubuntu software tab] please select
Download from: Main server
2) Please copy and paste the /etc/apt/sources.list contents here, to do
this...
Open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and
type:
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you
type it, then press enter.
Hope this helps
