[Question #77753]: dlink wireless usb dwa-130 ????
New question #77753 on Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77753
HELP! Solo Ubuntu 904 x86 64bit (2.6.28-13-generic kermel) install on brand new Inspiron 530n. First time user. Muy frustrated! I've tried every dead end on the internet/chat sites to install this driver. Here's where I am:
command: ndiswrapper -l
output: WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper, it will be ignored in a future release.
net8192u : driver installed
device (2001:3301) present (alternate driver: r8192_usb)
Through GUI: System>Admin>Windows Wireless Drivers
Tells me: "Unable to see if hardware is present"
Then shows currently installed drivers: "net8192u - hardware present:yes"
But when I click Configure Network button : "Could not find network configuration tool".
I've tried to install nm-applet but end up getting Gconf errors?!?!
Please help me! I am an uber-newbie and this is my first task on the system and I am becoming disillusioned. I've tried to build the linux drivers, install xp/vista drivers, tried using wine, ... Maybe I am missing some essential configuration step - this is right out of the box...............................................
Thanks.
