[Question #77779]: Ubuntu 9.041 on A Dell xps 410 Sound card wont work

I spent hours reading and trying post but to no avail. 

I have no sound with speakers or headphones. The only sound the computer makes is that it beeps when I mess up. I have tried a tun of things Alsa in terminal. 

PLEASE HELP!
