What video file have you tried to view? What extension does it (they)
have?
If you are trying to view a commercial/encrypted DVD you need to add the
Medibuntu Repository...
( instructions here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu . Note
that you have to do two things 1) add Repository and 2) get GPG key )
...and add: libdvdcss2
