Hmm, that is tricky. Can you do another LiveCd session and let us know
what gparted says about the partitions on your hard-drive? Are they the
way you wanted or has something odd happened?
During the install did you choose "Manual Partitioning" and then edit
sda6 to set it's "Mount Point" to be "/home" and also edit sda5's "Mount
Point" to be "/" which might also have been called "root"?
Sorry, i think that was my fault but hopefully this time a re-install will sort this out
