David Haas is still having a problem:
I don't see how the bug can be in Brasero, because when I insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW into the CR-ROM drive, no icon appears on the desktop. In prior Ubuntu versions and in my other computer running 8.04 an icon appears within a few seconds of inserting the CD disk. In contrast in my 9.04 machine the CD-ROM light flickers for about 30 seconds and then stops. Is it true that an icon should appear whenever a CD is inserted into the drive, and that the absence of the icon signifies that the presence of the disk is unrecognized? What program handles CD disk recognition when a disk is inserted?
