Binary package hint: totem

Note that this is similar to 45592, but in my case, I get no sound at all (45592 gets sound for 1 sec). I tried playing from the wav files on the audio disk, and also from their copies which I put on the hard disk. The player says "Not playing" at the top and "(streaming)" at the bottom, which is odd. Clicking the play button does nothing. Back-end is gstreamer. System = Ubuntu 8.10. Totem ver = 2.24.2 which is "installed" (but 2.24.3 is also displayed as "candidate").
