sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/linux-
image-2.6.28-14-generic_2.6.28-14.47_i386.deb; sudo apt-get clean; sudo
apt-get update; sudo apt-get -f install; sudo depmod -a; sudo apt-get
dist-upgrade

Do you need the new kernel? If all your hardware is working and at a
reasonable speed (not horrifically slow) then it is not needed. Newer is
not always better.
